We at SPH Engineering are excited to announce a new release of UgCS v.4.12 (1097)

What’s new

Highlight of this release - support for DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise (M3E/M3T) and DJI M30/M30T drones.

New drone and payload profiles have been added for Mavic 3 Enterprise (M3E / M3T) and DJI Matrice 30 (M30 / M30T) drones. Current support is implemented via route export from UgCS to DJI Pilot 2 (KMZ files).

Note: It is not yet possible to connect M30 and M3E drones directly to UgCS but this feature is coming soon!

“One of the main benefits of using UgCS for Mavic 3 Enterprise and DJI M30 / M30T drones is the ability to plan vertical scan and photogrammetry with terrain following missions.” - Kristaps Brass, UgCS Product Owner

Ability to export routes from UgCS to DJI Pilot 2 (KMZ / WPML format).

It is now possible to easily export any route planned in UgCS to DJI Pilot 2 and fly it with drones supported in DJI Pilot 2 - M300 RTK, M30, Mavic 3 Enterprise.

This feature also exports all actions set in the route such as “Set camera by distance” or “Change camera tilt” as well as speed, turn type and other relevant actions. The terrain model used in UgCS (default SRTM4 or custom DEM) is taken into account when exporting the route. This allows the route to be uploaded directly to the drone from DJI PIlot 2 and flown without any additional modifications.

This export feature can be accessed by clicking on “Export…” on the drop-down menu of any route and selecting the export option “DJI Pilot 2”.

Important note: Routes are exported to DJI Pilot 2 with altitude relative to take-off point. Make sure to take off from the first waypoint or a point at the same elevation to ensure safe altitude above terrain.

Other new noteworthy features

  • Ability to split Corridor and Lidar Corridor segments by approximating points

  • For vertical scanning missions - the ability to set line spacing in meters (instead of using overlap) is added.

  • Payload profiles now have a new attribute - “Short name”

Changes

  • For all DJI drones, the default route fence radius (maximum flight distance) has been increased from 500 to 2500 meters + added a new convenient window for quickly changing fence radius.

  • Previous "Export route to KML" and "Export route to JSON" route menu items have been merged into a single "Export…" menu item.
