The Flock Drone Art team from Spain has launched the first ever drone show in Barcelona! The drone show was organized during the ISEA 2022, International Electronic Arts Symposium, one of the most important annual events in the world, celebrating the crossroads where art, design, science, technology and society meet.

Using 100 drones, Flock Drone Art has created a work of light and technology art that combines a personalized soundtrack and voice-over to take viewers on a magical journey through the natural wonders of planet Earth. This drone show is a choreography of 100 drones to the rhythm of music and sound effects, forming shapes up to 100 meters wide, visible from a distance of 1 km. Whales, ancient trees, bees, legendary birds, giant flowers, in short, Flock Drone Art  represents all of Earth's biodiversity through this drone show that ends with an important message: Earth is unique, take care of it!

Flock Drone Art is a union of people from different technical disciplines that form an innovative team with a lot of experience. Aeronautical engineers, designers, artists, geo-positioners, entrepreneurs and others… united by their passion for drones.

We had a little conversation with Ernest Biosca Rojas, Art Director of Flock Drone Art, and here's what we found out:

DSS team: Why do you think drone shows make each event unique?

Ernest: The canvas is always different, that means each show is unique. The light, the audience, the location, the moon ... they are never the same either.

DSS team: What is the most important thing to be successful in the drone show business as Flock Drone Art?

Ernest: Passion is the key element among all team members. Without it we would not be able to carry out the projects.

DSS team: What emotions do you feel when conducting such wonderful projects as at the ISEA 2022?

Ernest: It’s always a big responsibility that translates into nerves until the moment of landing, but all the effort is offset when you hear the cheers and applause from the audience.
